Meetings, calls, walks, 2am ideas. You were present for all of it — and lost most of it. Note-taking splits your attention; recording apps bury you in audio you'll never replay. notu listens, so you don't have to.

Private by architecture, not by promise.

Transcription runs on the device. Your conversations never leave it to be processed, stored, or used to train someone else's model. That's not a policy you have to trust — it's hardware you can hold.

  • 100+ languages

Real-time transcription with automatic detection and speaker identification.

  • Summaries & action items

Review an hour-long call in seconds. Decisions, owners, next steps.

  • Ask notu

“What did we agree on pricing?” Chat with everything you've recorded.

No meter running.

Most AI recorders are cheap hardware attached to an expensive subscription. notu's transcription is unlimited and runs on the device — you pay once. First year with full AI: notu R1 Pro $159 pre-order · Plaud $259–429 · Pocket $298.

Questions

When will my order ship?

The current batch is sold out — orders placed now are pre-orders and ship at the end of November 2026. The pre-order price (€149 / $159 / £125 instead of €169 / $179 / £139) is our thank-you for the wait.

Do I need a subscription?

No. Recording and unlimited on-device transcription work without any plan. 3 months of notu Pro are included for advanced features — after that, Pro is optional.

Does it work with my phone?

The R1 attaches via MagSafe to iPhone and records fully standalone. The companion notu app for iOS is on the App Store.

How does notu compare to Plaud and Pocket?

notu is the one without a subscription — unlimited transcription runs on the device, not in a cloud. See the full notu vs Plaud vs Pocket comparison.
